Whilst not all members join Freshie for the competition, all FRESHWATER SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB members are encouraged to compete at carnivals if they so desire and we back this up with dedicated training. 

Freshie host many carnivals each year including a MASTERS CARNIVAL, usually held in November/December, and the traditional AUSTRALIA DAY OPEN CARNIVAL.  Last season's Australia Day Carnival, sponsored by MACQUARIE BANK and HARBORD BEACH HOTEL, attracted over 5146 entries from 1797 participants, representing 78 clubs!
