Freshwater Nippers Registration

You can register a child for Nippers if they turn 5 by 30 September 2018.
Registrations will not be accepted after midnight on Thursday 20 September 2018.

First Time Nippers Registration

  1. Go to the Surf Lifesaving Portal (https://sls.com.au/join/)
  2. Fill in the required details for a parent.
  3. Click to "create a family group and join an additional family member".
  4. Name the Family Group and fill in the required details for a child.
  5. Click to "join another person up" if necessary for more children and an optional additional parent.
  6. Click to "pay your membership fee(s) online", listing all member names in the Payment Details box.
  7. Send an email to the nippers@communalevents.com with attachments:-
    a. Scan of an identification document for each parent/guardian and Nipper that is joining (e.g. passport or driving licence).
    b. Scan of filled in MPD for each parent/guardian (not for the Nipper).
  8. The Registrar will review the registration details and you will receive an email. Note that this may take over a week during our busy annual registration period.

Renew Nippers Membership

  1. Go to the Surf Lifesaving Portal (https://portal.sls.com.au)
  2. If you have not registered for access to the Portal or if you have forgotten your login details, there are links at the bottom of the join page.
  3. Check your details are up to date by selecting from Update Personal Details from the Memberships menu. Particularly personal information and contact details.
  4. Select Family from the Memberships menu.
  5. If you have not already set up a Family Group, click the red button to do so. This will require approval by the Registrar before it can be used.
  6. Click the Renew Memberships link to renew the family members, including at least one parent/guardian.
  7. Click to pay your family membership fee online.
  8. Pay from within the Surf Lifesaving Portal. Pay to “Freshwater SLSC” and please list the name of each member in the “payment details” box.
  9. The Registrar will review the renewal and you will receive an email.  Note that this may take over a week during our busy annual annual registration period.

Note:   If you have been an SLS member, but not in the last 2 years then you may not be able to access the Members Area. Here is information about rejoining a surf club after an absence.

Add New Nipper to an Existing Nipper Family

  1. Go to the Surf Lifesaving Portal (https://sls.com.au/join/)
  2. Fill in the required details for your new nipper.
  3. Follow the instruction above to Renew Nippers Membership.
  4. Send an email to the nippers@communalevents.com with an attached scan of an identification document for the new Nipper (e.g. passport).
  5. Once approved by the Registrar, add the new Nipper to your Family Group by selecting Family from the Memberships menu then clicking View/Edit and then use the red button to add a new member.

Fees

One child, one parent, family social fee                             $180
Two children, one parent, family social fee                        $250
Three (or more) children, one parent, family social fee     $300

The parental component included in the above costs is $40. This insures the parent whilst assisting in nipper activities at Freshwater Beach. 

If a parent is already an Active Member (i.e. Patrolling Member) deduct $40 from the above amounts.

If an additional parent wishes to join as a General Member (i.e. Nipper parent) add $40 to the above amount.

Transfer From Another Club

  1. Go to the Surf Lifesaving Portal (https://portal.sls.com.au)
  2. If you have not registered for access to the Portal or if you have forgotten your login details, there are links at the bottom of the join page.
  3. Select Memberships > Transfers > Join/Transfer to a new organisation.
  4. Enter the requested information.
  5. Wait up to a week for the club to complete the process.
  6. Follow the instructions above to Renew Nippers Membership.

Registration Day

The only Registration Day for Freshwater Nippers 2018/19 will be held on Saturday 8 September from 9am to midday at the Freshwater Surf Club. This day is primarily for new Nippers families who may have questions or wish to purchase caps, swimware etc (though this can be done during Sunday Nippers too). At Registration Day you will need to:

  • Fill out a Registration form for each new Nipper and at least one parent
  • Fill out an MPD form for each parent that is joining
  • Bring ID for each new Nipper and each new parent member (e.g. passport or driving licence)
  • Pay with a credit card

You can either download, print and pre-fill the forms or fill them out at the club on Registration Day.

How can you get cap/swimwear?

The shop will be open for the first few weeks from 8am at Sunday Nippers. It is located on the sand to the left of the roller door (when looking at the surf club from the water).

Does Freshwater Nippers participate in the Active Kids programme?

Not for this season, but feel free to contact the Registrar if you feel we should participate in the future.
